청소년의 일상적 유튜브 이용 경험과 의미에 대한 탐색적 연구

This study aimed to explore how adolescents experience and make meaning of using YouTube, one of the most widely viewed platforms today, in their everyday lives. Specifically, the research sought to understand when adolescents first encountered YouTube, how they use it, and what they experience through its use. To this end, in-depth interviews were conducted with ten adolescents aged 15 to 16, and the data were analyzed using the constant comparative method. The key findings are as follows. First, the study examined adolescents’ patterns of YouTube use and participation. Next, it explored how YouTube is integrated into their daily lives and the meanings they associate with it. The adolescents reported experiencing enjoyment through quick access to information and content, using YouTube as a medium for building friendships, engaging with learning-related content, and connecting it to their career exploration. At the same time, they also recognized the negative aspects of YouTube, such as the spread of misinformation and challenges in managing their time. Based on these findings, the study presents implications and suggestions for further discussion.
